This piece was staged in the tunnels of downtown Tulsa, specifically in front of an imposing underground bank vault, in order to re-emphasize the almost cartoonish pre-occupation with wealth and money suffered by the dancers’ characters.
”There has always been a strange interception of privilege and fear. Throughout history, the wealthy and famous have had a propensity for paranoia. 5 dancers from the University of Tulsa bring these histories and parallels to life.”
Dancers: Maggie O'Gara, Taylor Keefe, Kaylin Rogers, Kaedi Love, Amy Hayes
Collaboration with Liv Jensen // January 2017 // Living Arts of Tulsa
In this dance performance, we take the intimacy of cohabitation and place it in a public space. The piece explores the implications of living parallel, but separate, lives — all while playing into the loaded imagery of two bare beds.
